Improving Social Emotional Learning Outcomes in the Classroom

The “Improving Social Emotional Learning Outcomes in the Classroom” program provides an evidence based and holistic approach to screening, intervention and explicit instruction for the Social Emotional Learning capabilities within a Primary Classroom.

Description

This program has been designed for Primary educators and classrooms and will assist Primary students to better understand and regulate their emotions, while developing their behaviour in class and improve relationships with their peers.

The program ensures Primary Classroom teachers will have access to a unique, class-wide screening tool to improve identification and support for SEL (Social Emotional Learning) needs in the classroom using components from the SSIS-SEL assessment. Fully aligned with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework and the Victorian Personal and Social Capability curriculum, this virtual learning session has been designed to improve capacity of educators to assess and explicitly teach skills in the five SEL competencies.
