At the end of this workshop participants should: 

  • understand how Pearson Mathematics facilitates 21st century learning
  • be able to drive student engagement and differentiation with Pearson Mathematics 
  • be able to use Lightbook Starter as an effective diagnostic and teaching tool
  • understand how Pearson Mathematics can be used to form a comprehensive and effective learning plan

Pearson Mathematics: Developing algorithmic thinking and reasoning skills through a coding environment

Delve into the Pearson Mathematics coding platform and transform how your students apply reasoning and algorithmic thinking skills - in and out of the classroom.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, participants should:

  • understand how the Algorithmic Thinking and Coding activities in Pearson Mathematics facilitate systematic and structured thinking, and support the development of sophisticated reasoning skills.
  • be able to confidently navigate the Pearson Mathematics coding platform and use its tools and support materials to effectively foster and enhance student learning.
  • know how to effectively utilise the Algorithmic Thinking and Coding activities in Pearson Mathematics for planning and instruction.

Catering: Note that the full-day workshop (both sessions) does not include lunch, but does include morning and afternoon tea.
