This training has been designed to support individuals required to use these assessments in becoming qualified administrators of User Level B assessments.

Pearson Clinical Assessment adheres to strict ethical guidelines for standardised test and assessment use. A central principle of professional test use is that individuals should use only those tests for which they have the appropriate training and expertise. This training has been designed to support individuals required by their organisation to use these assessments in becoming qualified administrators of User Level B assessments.

User Level Training will develop your understanding and practice across two days. The workshop program will cover;

  • The fundamental principles of both statistics and psychometrics
  • Understanding the implications of a distribution in scores
  • Basic interpretation of client scores
  • A practical introduction to a variety of User Level B assessments
  • The ethical responsibilities for using these assessments

Learning Outcomes

Day 1: Understanding Scores

  • Understand and apply concepts associated with statistics and psychometrics in the context of User Level B assessments
  • Understand the measures of central tendency and how these are used in standardized assessment.
  • Be able to effectively interpret a student’s score and compare student performance against others
  • Understand normative distribution, how to convert raw scores to z and t scores, and the relevance of this to User Level B assessments

Day 2: Practical Applications

  • Administer a range of user level B assessments and understand the implications of assessing students
  • Be able to interpret a new User Level B assessment and understand how to apply this assessment in context

Prerequisites

In order to be eligible for the User Level Training you will need to register on Pearson Clinical website >> www.pearsonclinical.com.au/accounts/create

You will be required to have an approved mentor to supervise your scoring and reporting of User Level B assessments. This mentor MUST be an existing user level B or C and have at least 6 – 12 months experience using User Level B assessments. Both you and your mentor will have to sign an agreement with Pearson Academy to acknowledge the supervision requirements and expectations. Your mentor will be responsible for acknowledging you have completed the administration of at least 10 User Level B assessments in a “trial scenario”.
