Words Their Way is a teacher-directed, student-centred approach to vocabulary growth and spelling development whereby students engage in a variety of sound, pattern and meaning activities, sorting pictures and words. It caters for differentiated learning in the classroom, rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.
Words Their Way: High Impact Word Study provides teachers with a deep understanding of how to engage students in spelling instruction that is learner-centred, engages critical thinking and problem solving skills. The workshops provides hand-on learning for teachers so they can develop their own expertise in understanding how English spelling makes sense and how to cater to the diverse learning needs in their classrooms. This workshop aims to transform classroom practice and explore authentic assessments that give insights into how children think about words.
